Back to Back: The Potter-Kelley Cup Remains at Peddie

After returning the Potter-Kelley Cup to its rightful place last year, Peddie defended its cup from Blair this past Saturday, winning a total of nine contests out of thirteen events. All of Peddie’s fall sports teams competed in their last games of the season. JV football started off Blair day on Friday, beating Blair for the first time since the 2011-2012 season. The final score was 26-12. The varsity football team did not share the same fate as the JV, dropping their match-up 28-13. Both field hockey teams suffered tough losses, with the varsity field hockey team losing 1-0 in overtime, and the JV field hockey team losing 1-0 in double overtime. The tennis teams split their match-ups with Blair, with the JV getting the win 6-1, and the varsity falling 5-2. In soccer, the falcons swept the Buccaneers, winning all five matchups. The final scores for the boys games were thirds boys soccer 1-0, JV boys soccer 6-2, and varsity boys soccer 5-2. The final scores for the girls’ games included JV girls soccer winning a whopping 11-0, and varsity girls soccer also with the shutout, 4-0. And finally, the cross country teams continued their dominance this season as the boys’ cross country team won 36-19, and the girls’ team won 49-15.

Next year, the falcons will look to win the Potter-Kelley Cup for the third time in a row.
