Although fall is not crew’s official season, the Peddie crew teams have been practicing six days a week and recently traveled to Boston to compete in the Head of the Charles regatta on Sunday, Oct. 19 in Boston. Both the girls and boys A-boat competed in the regatta.
The Peddie girls boat placed 23 out of 84 and the Peddie boys placed 27 out of 85 in this national competition.
The Peddie girls that competed were Alex Baum ’15 as coxswain, Jillian Raplee ’15 as stroke, Angela Glazer ’16 in three-seat, Katherine Benham ’16 in two-seat and Kaitlyn Donald ’15 in the bow seat.
The Peddie boys who rowed were Ryan Davison ’16 as coxswain, Oliver Probst ’15 as stroke, Ethan Rosen ’15 in three-seat, Pieter de Buck ’15 in two-seat and Ross Hamilton ’16 in bow seat.
“The regatta was so much fun and exhilarating to cox…because there were so many people, crews, bridges, and sights to look at to make the course so interesting,” said Baum ’15. “It was a great experience for our boat and I am so thankful that we got to experience the regatta together.”
