Girls’ JV Soccer Perseveres

Written by Janine Karo

Missing six players to injuries and illnesses, the girls JV soccer team suffered losses to Delran, Bordentown and Steinert last week,

The team lost 6-0 against Delran, 5-0 against Bordertown and 8-0 against Steinert.

Despite this rough start, the coaches push the team to grow from these experiences.

“I am incredibly proud to coach this group of girls,” Coach James Truslow said. “We’ve struggled to have everyone together due to injuries and sickness at our level and on the varsity.  The girls who have far less experience in soccer have stepped up and battled; some very talented girls who came out to play JV have been thrust onto the varsity and have competed well.”

Jada Myricks’15 said that the team perseveres despite these setbacks.

“Peddie girls JV soccer is a fighting team,” Myricks said. “We are relentless, and despite having a few players injured and a few playing on varsity, we won’t stop. Our two main team goals this year are to improve individually and of course beat Blair.”

“We’re starting to get our team back together and everyone [back in shape],” Truslow said. “We are excited to see what that will mean.”
