On Saturday, January 11, the Peddie School swim team met against both the Mercersburg Academy and Lawrenceville School swim teams in a tri-meet and home opener. The girls varsity team won against both Mercersburg Academy and Lawrenceville School, and the boys varsity team won against Lawrenceville. The girls beat Lawrenceville with a score of 128-42 and a score of 104-66 against Mercersburg. The boys earned a score of 112-58 against Lawrenceville.
The girls had many first-place finishes, including the 200-yard medley relay with Bella Oushalkas ’26, Cece Traub ’25, Mary Bao ’26, and Isabella Chen ’26. According to Traub, “Our hard work in and out of the pool paid off as we finally beat Mercersburg, our rivals, for the first time in five years!” The team was super excited about this win and proud of their performance.
The seniors were overjoyed to finally win against Mercersburg for the first time in their Peddie Swimming career. Antonette Uy ’25 said, “I was so proud of the way our team put all our effort in to get this win. Mercersburg is a super competitive meet every year. This is the first time we’ve won since I’ve been at Peddie, so I’m so excited to see how we do in the rest of the season!”
