On Hill Day, Friday, Oct. 10 the girls varsity and JV tennis, boys varsity football, girls varsity field hockey, boys and girls varsity and JV soccer, and cross country competed against the Hill School.

Girls varsity and JV tennis
The girls tennis matches brought victories home. The girls varsity team won all seven matches, while JV also brought home a win of 5-4. The whole team stayed to cheer on their fellow members until the completion of all the matches.

“I think that the Hill Day matches were extremely well played by the entire tennis team,” JV tennis player Ayami Cho ’16 said. “Everyone had high energy and determination and it’s definitely one of the closest and best matches we’ve played this season so far.”

Boys and girls varsity cross country
The boys varsity cross-country team conquered the Hill School with a score of 44-19. Colin Mulligan ’15 domineered the boys’ race with a finishing time of 15:50. Brigid Greed ’16 dominated the race on the girls side with a time of 18:25. Rachel Greaney ’16 finished close with a score of 19:11.

“Our team killed the Hill team,” runner Nishad Nalgundwar ’17 said. “We had seven runners in between their first and second runners, so it was basically a slaughter.”

Boys varsity football
The boys football team dictated the football field with a win of 24-16 against the Hill School. They pulled in their victory in the last few minutes of the game.

“It was a hard fought game. Against an improving, underrated Hill team,” football player David Ryslik ’15 said. “We were solid on defense, but were a little slow to get things rolling on offense as we had some new kids step up. It might not have been pretty, but a win is a win and well take the 1-0 start in the MAPL. We’ll learn from this and well get ready for Lawrenceville.”

Girls varsity field hockey
The girls varsity field hockey team pulled in a win of 2-1 during the last couple minutes of their game thanks to Andie O’Sullvian ’15. Abby Lloyd ’16 saved over six goals during the game.

Girls and boys varsity and JV soccer
For the girls varsity soccer game, Karli Sottung ’15 determined the last minute win of 2-1 in the girls varsity game, while girls JV also won with a score of 6-1. The boys JV team also won with a score of 1-0. Although the boys varsity was not able to win their game, they played a close match losing 2-3.
