“Even though we were told that Mercersburg was not that competitive, we still stayed focused and conquered,” Amber Shi ’16 said.

Following their victory over the Hill School on Oct. 12, the girls varsity field hockey team kept up their record by dominating Blair Academy on Oct. 29 with their win of 2-0. Kelly Coyle ’16 scored the first goal of the game, and Andie O’Sullivan ’15 netted the insurance marker.

“I felt the score really reflected the hard work we put into that game. It wasn’t easy but with the support of fellow Peddie athletes it made it that much more special to win,” O’Sullivan said.

Girls Varsity Soccer

The girls varsity soccer team defeated Mercersburg Academy on Oct. 27 with a score of 3-2. Hana Nguyen ’18, Caitlin Barrett ’17, and Karli Sottung ’15 all scored, and were able to secure the victory with the help of Emma Wilby ’16 in goal.

Cross Country

The Peddie cross-country team dominated the MAPL championships on Nov. 1. Both teams won first place, marking the first time that the boys’ and girls’ teams from Peddie had won in the same year since 1998. Colin Mulligan ’15 came in second overall on the boys side, setting a new Peddie record of 15:59.5. Bridgid Greed ’16 finished first for the girls’ team with a time of 19:33.6. The girls cross-country team also won the NJISAA State Championships for the first time since 1981, while the boys team finished in fifth place.

“After all of our hard work over the summer and this season, it felt amazing to win MAPLs. Although I did not perform as well as I would have liked, I’m so proud of our team effort. Our top 7 performed extraordinarily on Saturday and we cannot wait to race Blair this week,” Mulligan said.
