Liam Wall ’14, Megan Mooney ’14 and Patrick Creamer ’14 were voted by the students on Apr. 12 to be student body co-presidents and vice president, respectively, for the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year.

“I want to plan a ‘Spring Fling’ outdoor music festival and barbecue featuring a performance from a live band or artist chosen by the student body,” Wall said. “Of course, I would also like it to feature a few performances from students. The event would be free and would happen right on campus.”

“I plan on attempting to do the impossible; I will somehow make community meeting better than Katherine did this year,” Creamer said, referring to Katherine Mooney ’13

who currently serves as Vice President. “I want to allow the community to be more involved while at the same time have a more efficient show each week so all those students rushing to the grille before class will get their precious muffins.”

To run as an officer, students were nominated by faculty or petitioned by receiving 50 student signatures. Candidates also delivered a speech in front of the student body during community meeting outlining their ideas to improve the school.

Students also voted for class representatives on Apr. 25. Simi Olagundoye ’14 will serve as head representative for the class of 2014 and Justin Ryu ’14 and Paul Suk ’14 will serve as representatives. Lauren Donato ’15 and Jake Fine ’15 were elected as representatives for the class of 2015 and Timothy Baxter ’16 (head representative), Abby Lloyd ’16 and Erin Fago ’16 were chosen to represent the class of 2016.

“My biggest concern and thus my greatest interest is to cultivate a vibrant weekend culture inside campus,” Suk said. “To accomplish this, I plan to work with whoever will be in charge of weekend activities next year to create fun and affordable events for the students.”

“The most important goal I have is to improve class fundraising,” Baxter said. “I also want students to be able to use their debit cards at the Peddie Golf Course and at some local businesses in Hightstown.”

Lloyd plans to work with Baxter closely to make these goals a reality. “As a class, I’m excited to continue our fundraising and planning for class events and trips,” Lloyd said. “We got off to a really good start this year. Next year will be interesting with a new headmaster, and I think we’re all really looking forward to helping with that transition and excited to see his ideas for the school.”
