Peddie’s JV field hockey team ended a three-year dry spell as they celebrated a 3-0 victory over Princeton Day School on Sept. 16.
“The goals were all very different and all very exciting,” Coach Marisa Green said.
Felicity Williams ’15 scored the first goal of the game, followed by a second goal from Hannah Rothberg ’16 and a third goal from Williams. Co-captain Judy Castillo ’17 performed well in goal, allowing Peddie to keep the lead.
“I was excited for our team,” Williams said. “It was nice to see all our practice pay off.”
The team works on different drills and strategies during practice to prepare them for game day. With 26 players ranging in level from three-year veterans to first year players, the team was able to use their strengths to win this game.
“It’s a collective effort. We all worked hard to get to this point,” Williams said. “We played a strong game as a team, all using our strengths to get the result we wanted.”
The team faces the George School next on October 1.
