Boys Thirds Soccer Wins First Game of Season

By: Patrick Mariboe ’14
Team Manager

The boys thirds soccer team is 1-1 after defeating Princeton Day School on Sept. 26.

The game started out well for Peddie, with the players communicating well and were given more chances to shoot. Their hard work paid off early in the half when Drew Feldman ’17 passed to Matthew Saker ’17 who scored in the twentieth minute to give Peddie a 1-0 lead. In the second half the team scored a second goal when Saker passed to Daniel Sawula ’17 who deflected the ball to Matthew Bauer ’17, who then scored from right outside the box to give Peddie. A great performance by goalkeeper Trevor Russo ’17 and defender Codi Yhap ’16 helped give the team their first win of the season.

In an earlier game against Delran, the boys were down 4-0 at the half. The team finished strong with a much improved second half, but finished with a 4-0 loss.
