Peddie athletes were already training and focusing on the upcoming season during spring break.
In Florida and Virginia, athletes started their days early in order to fit in workout sessions, games and practices. However, teams were able to find some time for fun in despite their rigorous schedules.
The softball and baseball teams stayed for a sunshine-filled week in Orlando, Fla.
Softball players said after a 7:30 a.m. wakeup call each day, the team stayed busy until the early afternoon. The girls spent time on team bonding while at Walt Disney World, Old Town USA Theme Park and on the beach. As these girls look ahead in the season, they hope to improve their mental game and throwing.
“I hope to win the MAPL and then states,” sophomore Carly Hattman said.
The team plays a double header with boys varsity baseball Saturday at 1 p.m.
The boys and girls crew team woke early each day in Woodbridge, Va., to head the boathouse, practice all day and then relaxed with movies in the evenings.
This spring, the team hopes to improve their individual technique and have even better harmony rowing together as a unit, team members said.
In addition to softball and crew preseason, girls lacrosse practiced at Peddie.
