I believe I am the best candidate to represent our 9th grade due to my strong social skills and ability to connect with classmates. As most of the people know, I know most of the people here. I can talk to them casually, including some secrets. This shows how trustworthy I am. I may not always make perfect choices, but I am committed to making decisions that benefit our grades. For example, I propose adding instant noodles to the Peddie store. Most of the other schools have instant noodles in their school store, but I found the fact that our school doesn’t. However, there are a lot of students who desire them a lot, so I will start with small ideas like this. Also, I have not only small ideas but also some big ideas, such as school trips. A lot of freshman has problems talking to the upper class, which makes it hard to promote some new ideas and better ways that they think. However, I am comfortable talking to the upper class, including current sophomore representatives. This will help our grade to propose our thoughts to the Student Council.
How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?
My goal is to ensure every student feels included, respected, and heard. I will actively listen to the diverse perspectives of students by encouraging feedback through surveys or daily conversations. I will promote and preserve activities and events that celebrate different cultures, identities, and perspectives. Also, I will ensure that school policies and events do not exclude or disadvantage any group of students intentionally.
What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?
In my opinion, competing among students in their grades is not going to help students to have a happy school experience. I plan to introduce initiatives that enhance both school spirit and
student well-being. This includes organizing inter-grade bonding events, such as game nights or outdoor activities, to help us connect outside the classroom. I also want to create a place, like a suggestion box or online form, where students can share ideas or concerns anonymously. Additionally, I’ll work to make our school experience more fun and engaging by supporting spirit weeks, and opportunities for student-led projects and activities. Lastly, I would also like to promote CAPS so that students can go there to rest, feel calm, and share some secrets that they don’t want to tell anyone else.
