My peers should choose me to represent them on the Student Council and in the Peddie community because I am truly committed to making Peddie a place where everyone’s voices are valued and heard. By listening to everyone’s ideas, I can best evaluate what is needed for the community. I will advocate and stand for their ideas and do my best to implement them. Despite some things being out of my control, I will always support and represent my class and our best ideas. The qualities I possess that will help me be a successful representative are empathy, teamwork, and determination. Empathy helps me to connect with my peers. I am a good listener and try to understand other people’s perspectives and gather feedback from my community. Teamwork is another important quality I have. I enjoy collaborating and will be a strong contributor within the Student Council when planning activities and events. I am motivated to work hard and put in my best effort even if it isn’t easy because I know that finishing strong will be worth it in the end. I have only been at Peddie for 3 months and I am grateful for all the opportunities to try new things in this community. I would like to help my peers take advantage of more of these opportunities. For example, many clubs we have signed up for have not fully kicked off yet. I would like to help.

How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?
In order to ensure that my leadership is truly inclusive and representative of the entire student body, I will prioritize listening to all ideas so your voices can be heard. Whether a boarder or a day student, playing sports, or not, I encourage my peers to approach me with any ideas or opinions on how we can improve our school. I am always willing to listen and I will support new ideas so we can keep this community thriving.

What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?
My first months at Peddie have offered many opportunities to explore new interests. I was able to participate in a variety of activities, such as the Broadway show in New York, because of how easy Peddie made it to sign up. However, I have also noticed that we have so many opportunities that have not yet been fully explored here on campus. I would love to help with the planning of these events and help engage with clubs that have yet to entirely kick off this year.
