You should choose me to represent you on the Student Council and in the Peddie community because I am oneof the most transparent and unbiased people you’d see. I represent truth and truth alone, and I sincerely approach everybody regardless of who you are. Even if there is nothing I gain in return, I try to understand what you need and do everything I can to help out. Therefore, I would be able to thoroughly represent the entire freshman year, making sure every single voice is heard. The best qualities that I possess are honesty and truthfulness. I act as if what I do every moment is going to be made into a universal law: I treat others the way I would like to be treated. In other words, I do not make a single lie, and make sure I fulfill my responsibilities that follow my rights. This will make me a successful representative because the way I put other people before myself and always stay prepared to provide service will result in actual progress and accomplishments as a whole grade, instead of vague plans for the future. I don’t think I can propose grand ideas at the moment, because there is nothing more irresponsible than making fancy statements that cannot even be guaranteed. What I want to do, instead, is to create a way to directly convey the freshman students’ opinions and ideas to the student council. Idea boxes, google forms, emails and official social media accounts can be a few examples. However, I do have some potential ideas in mind that can actually be made tangibly. One example is more bonding experiences and fun events that can be easily created, such as karaoke and movie nights. Another example is effective fundraising events like candy grams that celebrate upcoming holidays like Christmas, New Year, and Valentine’s Day. And if the fundraising events are successful, it can then be used to make more fun events in return.

How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?
I will find ways to reach each and every individual among the freshman year by effectively using communication tools like email, google forms, and social media, so that every single voice is heard. On a personal basis, I will also be “a friend to all”, serving as an impartial leader rather than a selective one.

What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?
1. More frequent bonding experiences, such as karaoke and movie nights.
2. Candy grams in special holidays.
Benefits:
– They are not as difficult to prepare as some of the other community events like freshman games, so it is more likely to happen when proposed.
– They are not necessarily mandatory, meaning that it does not coerce students if they do not want to join.
– However, they do provide more opportunities for students to have fun with each other and celebrate special days without adding any burden or pressure.
