My peers should choose me as one of their 9th-grade representatives for 3 primary reasons: I have previous experience working in student government, I am open to new ideas, and I care about Peddie’s community. In middle school, I served as an advisory representative (since we did not have grade representatives), in which I coordinated events based on student’s preferences and wishes. Listening to others is imperative when working in student government. I believe that being receptive is an important quality in a representative, after all, for there to be improvement, there needs to be ideas. Naturally, someone who listens to their community also cares about their community. Keeping Peddie’s community satisfied and happy is my highest priority since a content and lively community is a successful one.
How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?
Leadership itself is inclusive, after all, without anyone to lead and represent, leadership does not exist. I am and will continue to be open to my fellow classmate’s ideas and wishes, which
then permits me to represent them in an honest manner.
What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?
A hard working community deserves a rest once in a while. I plan to coordinate more trips and events. For example, hiking during the weekends during gold weeks or donuts and other
treats after school on blue weeks.
