Why do you really want to serve in this position? 

I want to be a class representative in order to be given a chance to represent my peers thought a position in the student body government. I want to advocate for my class’s ideas and turn them into real events.

Why should your peers choose you to represent them on the Student Council and in the Peddie community? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative? What ideas do you want to bring to Student Council?

I should be chosen to represent my grade because of my ability to connect with my fellow classmates, my ability to represent them and their ideas, and my drive to help make our sophomore year at Peddie even better. I want to add even more fun events throughout next year that would be fun for everybody, my approach to this would include a suggestion form so that way students can submit ideas for events they would like.

How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?

I will ensure that my leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body by taking ideas from my classmates, not just using ideas from the representatives. By doing this while working closely with the rest of the Student Council, we can represent the entire class through open communication and collaboration.

What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?

I’d like to create more relaxed, inclusive events alongside movie nights and manhunt. This would include karaoke nights and more trips to local spots like bowling alleys or trampoline parks, this would allow our class to bond more outside of school and without the additional pressure of academics.

How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of Student Council?

My academic and extracurricular obligations would not interfere with my role as a member of Student Council. If I were to be elected as a class representative, I would make it a priority to come to every meeting and actively participate in stuco events. I currently do crew, so practices that take place before and after school wouldn’t interfere with any responsibilities I would be have as a representative, and I am fully committed to putting in the effort needed for this role.
