Why do you really want to serve in this position?
I feel as though student council would benefit from having a sunny and bright person such as myself! I am very creative and I have many ideas for the following year. I would also bring different forms of diversity to the team. I have also served student rep at my old school for 6th grade. Already having some experience, I can lead my grade to a positive direction.
Why should your peers choose you to represent them on the Student Council and in the Peddie community? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative? What ideas do you want to bring to Student Council?
My peers should elect me since I bring a of plethora things to the table. I have patience and loyalty towards all my class mates. I am not afraid to take a challenge head on. When I am given, “Difficult Tasks” I always find some creative way too combat it. I am also very open to all my class mates. I know every single one of them (literally) and I can adapt to certain situations. If anyone ever needs anyone to talk to, they can share anything with me. I want to put more dress down days and more spirit weeks. I would also loves class trips to the beach or to some fairs! I have a multitude of ideas that I can’t wait to share.
How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?
Multiple things make up my identity and i feel as though I can relate with anyone about something. Even the littlest of things can brew a friendship. I would send out a google form, every Friday, approximately around 6 asking what ideas my student body has for ideas.
What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?
I would love to bring more attention to mental health so maybe once a month we can have Mental Health Monday. During sometime through out the day, we would sell tea or drinks at the Grille and it would just be a great way to lift up the spirits of everyone.
How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of Student Council?
I have managed my grades well this year, maintaining A’s and B’s, but honestly it is going to be harder as they years pass. But I know that not only will this challenge me, it will motivate me to lead my grade. We are all in this together and having more hurdles to jump over will only make us stronger.
