Why do you really want to serve in this position?
I would really like to see some change towards our school spirit as a whole. I think becoming a rep would be a good way to have a say in the all school events we host and the design of these types of events that will maximize student attendance. I also want to learn how to continue to become a better leader and serve the Peddie community by continuing to improve it.
Why should your peers choose you to represent them on the Student Council and in the Peddie community? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative? What ideas do you want to bring to Student Council?
I have always been a leader throughout my entire life. I know how to speak to adults as well as my peers well, and prioritize the wants of the people around me. I am good at voicing the popular opinion and speaking out for people. I would like to do a spirit week, make more sports events more important to foster more student participation, more no homework nights, banquets for sports teams and other groups, and just overall more exciting activities that the students would be excited about.
How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body?
I will speak to my peers and gain their input in what they want as a student body using either forms or straight conversations.
What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students?
I think there needs to be more events throughout the school year to keep everyone looking forward to something. In the fall and spring we would have more outdoor activities, and in the winter we would have events hosted in the gym or stud and combine basketball games with an event to bring more students in.
How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of Student Council?
I take relatively rigorous classes and compete soccer at a very competitive level. I have a busy schedule but I am very good at managing my workload as I have been doing my whole life, and I do a good job not letting my soccer effect my academics and my academics not consume all of my time.
