Being on the discipline committee often requires that you put the needs of the school ahead of your personal feelings and friendships. In light of this, why should your peers choose you to represent them on a committee which makes decisions that have a profound impact on individuals and the school community as a whole? What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for this position?
I truly care about our school community and the people in it, and I know that being part of this committee means making tough decisions. I would able to put fairness and honesty above personal feelings or friendships. I’m always trying to be someone others can trust and that will listen without judgment. I take the time to understand every side of a situation, and I’m not quick to jump to conclusions. I believe every student deserves to be treated with respect and given a fair chance. I would take this responsibility very seriously because I know how much it impacts not just individuals, but the whole atmosphere of our school.
How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of the Disciplinary Committee?
My only commitment is varsity swimming. Other than about two hours after school I am prepared to give any time I have outside of classes to Disciplinary Committee.
