Being on the discipline committee often requires that you put the needs of the school ahead of your personal feelings and friendships. In light of this, why should your peers choose you to represent them on a committee which makes decisions that have a profound impact on individuals and the school community as a whole? What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for this position?
Hi Peddie! I’m Izzy, a junior day student from Princeton, New Jersey. On campus, I am involved in a lot ranging from academics to athletics, and these perspectives have helped me to realize what works and what doesn’t with our student body and community. I believe that it is important to recognize that nobody is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. These mistakes do not define us as people but instead can act as an opportunity for growth and learning. This mentality is essential in terms of the Disciplinary Committee because the situations that arise must be met with an open mind and empathy. This position requires you to keep a broad perspective to make the best decision for the school and I promise to be fair and just when making a decision with the other members. I love Peddie and all it has to offer us and I am dedicated to helping form a community where students feel respected and cared for. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you will consider voting for me for the Disciplinary Committee. Ala Viva!
How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of the Disciplinary Committee?
I hold different leadership positions on campus and take part in a varsity sport each term. At Peddie, I have learned the essentials of time management and have worked hard to create a schedule for myself and a way to block off my time correctly and efficiently. These outside roles will not impact my ability to work as part of the Disciplinary Committee.
