Being on the discipline committee often requires that you put the needs of the school ahead of your personal feelings and friendships. In light of this, why should your peers choose you to represent them on a committee which makes decisions that have a profound impact on individuals and the school community as a whole? What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for this position?
I value fairness, responsibility, and due process, but I also believe actions and habits matter more than words. My interest in the law of the United States has shaped the way I think about justice, something that requires consistency, patience, and care.
Serving on the Discipline Committee is about making sure every person is heard, that every decision is made thoughtfully, and that no one is judged based on popularity or whether they are my friend or not. Over time, I have learned that discipline is not entirely about punishment. It is about growth and restoring trust within our great Peddie community.
If my peers choose me for this role, they can trust that I would listen carefully, think things through, and make decisions that are principled and fair. I would see the role as a way for me to help strengthen the trust and integrity of our community, which can always be stronger.
How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of the Disciplinary Committee?
Rest assured, they will not. If elected, the responsibilities entrusted to me by my honorable peers will be of utmost importance.
