Why should members of the school community choose you to represent them on the Faculty-Student Senate? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative of the entire student body?
I genuinely care about this community. I want to be a voice for those who often feel overlooked, to stand up for students who might not believe their voices are heard. This has always been my commitment, and it remains unchanged. I believe that advocating for the unheard is one of the most honorable responsibilities someone seeking elected office can take on. My goal is to help make this school a true home for everyone because that’s what good leadership should strive to do.
What issues do you think the Faculty-Student Senate should address and why?
I think we should address a few key issues:
Students often do not have enough time to attend events. I have experienced this firsthand, and I know that many of my peers have as well. We can really harness school spirit if we could just find ways to make more time for students. When students attend events, it not only makes the experience more memorable for athletes, presenters, musicians, etc., but it also makes the experience more memorable for the students themselves.
Another major concern is that students lack sufficient involvement in student government decisions. I believe a bulletin board or a similar forum where students could anonymously submit ideas and suggestions to the student council would be a great solution. In doing this, we democratize the student government and louden the voices of the unheard.
There was a time when the energy at Peddie was unmistakable… you could feel it in every hallway. The roar of a crowd truly meant something. Pride wasn’t just something we talked about; it was something we lived every day. That kind of spirit doesn’t appear on its own. We have to protect it, and we have to bring it back. Because while we might divide ourselves into the Blue Team and the Gold Team, there is much more that unites us than there is that divides us. We are Blue and Gold. When we are united, there is nothing we cannot accomplish, there are no memories we cannot make.
