Why should members of the school community choose you to represent them on the Faculty-Student Senate? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative of the entire student body?
I’m involved in many areas at Peddie — arts, clubs, ISO, and, of course, FSS. My involvement on campus has allowed me to interact with many students and adults here, and I aim to continue bringing various inputs to conversations next year.
What issues do you think the Faculty-Student Senate should address and why?
To be frank, I’m not entirely sure. In the past, we’ve discussed mental health, dress code, the new schedule, and more, but I found myself becoming less vocal in meetings as I realized I had run out of things to say. Although I promised to bring people’s input to FSS, I realized there was a limit as to the areas on campus I could reach.
That’s why in my next year in FSS, I think we should implement an anonymous google form that stays open during the school year. We will send biweekly reminders through email in time for our meetings, and students can then quickly share what kind of issues they want to bring to the table. Next year will be an important one as we welcome a new head of school, so it will be imperative for us to discuss as many things as possible and get conversations going for not only next year but for the future.
