Candidate Statement:
As a day student who’s on campus until 10 PM most nights and even on Sundays, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with both day and boarding students, and I want to use that perspective to bring us all together. I’m friendly, open, and always ready to listen to everyone’s ideas. I had a lot of fun as VP in middle school, from enhancing school spirit, planning fun events, or making sure every student’s voice is heard, I’m committed to making Peddie a place where everyone feels valued and included. Let’s work together to bring new energy, more school pride, and an even better Peddie experience for all of us!
Governing student council and the school will take a good portion of your time, what other activities both in and out of school do you plan on participating in? How will you balance them?
I am a Co-president of the Speech and Debate Club and a Co-leader of the YEC Club. I also am an assistant choreographer in the winter musical, and I am in Lacrosse PA in the winter and lacrosse in the spring. My schedule has been very flexible this year, and balancing everything has not been a problem. I plan to make use of google calendar and keep track of all of my extracurriculars.
What qualities do you possess that makes you a good role model and representative that will allow you to be a leader of the entire school?
I am a friendly, hardworking, and dedicated member of the Peddie community who strives to connect with and support everyone around me. As someone who surrounds herself with a wide range of people, I love bringing students together and making sure every voice is heard. Transferring during my sophomore year made me appreciate Peddie to a greater extent. I truly love Peddie and am always willing to be there for others, whether it’s cheering on my classmates, staying late on campus to study, or simply being a supportive friend. I lead by example through my strong work ethic and commitment to both academics and school spirit, and I want to continue making Peddie a place where everyone feels valued and included.
What ideas do you have for change and how would you implement these ideas? What would you like
to continue?
I would love to see peer groups with seniors that are paired with freshman and new students to check in on them and make sure they are fitting in and settling in well. I think another cool thing to implement would be a monthly report to alumni, parents, and the Peddie community with art, sports, videos, blogs, and other little things that have been going on at Peddie. Additionally, a couple rest days during winter term would help a lot. For example, a day towards the end of the term where we take a break and do group school bonding or arts and crafts. I would like to continue the blue and gold games, and poco day. I also love Blair week and I would love to continue the high spirits.
