Ever since the mid-20th century, sneakers have been an integral component of popular culture in America. Beginning in 1917 with the release of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, followed by the revolutionary Nike Air Force 1 in 1982 and later the Air Jordan 1 in 1985, sneakers have emerged as one of the predominant forms of self-expression in our country.
As we transition into the spring trimester, I’m curious to know what shoes will be on the feet of other Peddie students and faculty this term. Read on to find out what sneakers you should be on the lookout for as we step into spring.
- Adidas x Bad Bunny Ballerina Shoes

For Coach Devyon Brooks, the recent collaboration between Adidas and Puerto Rican music star Bad Bunny is a shoe to consider purchasing this spring. “Currently, I’m looking for any shoes that accentuate my style, so right now, I’m looking at the Bad Bunny Ballerina,” said Coach Brooks, a devoted sneakerhead and fashion enthusiast. “The reason it’s called a ballerina shoe is because of how ballerina shoes are angled. The toe box of this shoe is a little bit more rounded than most regular sneakers.”
Released earlier this month on April 12, the Bad Bunny Ballerina sneaker retailed for $120 USD. Though sold out for the time being on the Adidas website, the model is available for purchase on sneaker resale platforms like StockX and GOAT.
- Off-White Vulcanized Sneakers

A giant in the fashion industry for over a decade, Off-White has released a series of vulcanized silhouettes, which were heated several times in order to achieve their distinct shape. “I’m considering buying Off-White vulcanized sneakers for their comfort,” said leader of the Peddie Sneaker Club Elyssa Ting ’26. Such models typically range anywhere between $280 and $450 USD, depending on the materials and the specific colorway purchased.
- Nike Dunk Lows

As you have surely noticed in recent years, the Nike Dunk Low has emerged as one of the most popular lifestyle sneakers on the market. Starting out as a skateboarding shoe, the silhouette has since evolved into more of an everyday sneaker due to its comfort and versatility. “I’ve been seeing a lot of Dunk lows around campus,” noted Ting, an accurate observation given the sheer amount of excellent colorways in which the silhouette is now available across sneaker resale websites.
So whether you’re looking for a sneaker to accentuate your unique style or just an extremely comfortable shoe to wear on a daily basis, the Peddie community has got you covered with some of its top recommendations for this spring trimester. From Bad Bunny collaborations to Nike Dunk lows, the possibilities are endless as we step into spring term.
