Why should your peers choose you to represent them on the Student Council and in the Peddie community? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative? What ideas do you want to bring to Student Council?
Hi! I’m Mia Zhu, and I am running to become your next student representative. I can’t promise to change MPS or Saturday school, but I can promise to listen to YOU. I will listen to all your requests and rants, from being your personal ATM to being a FRIEND. I’m open to all ideas and truly live by “YOLO”. What have you enjoyed most at Peddie this fall?
I have enjoyed representing Peddie at Blair Day and winning for our school. I loved the feeling of being in the celebration, while they stormed the field, but overall I enjoyed the feeling of being a part of a team. Blair Day overall was just a great experience, I loved cheering for Peddie’s other teams, as it made me feel connected to every person at Peddie.
What’s your favorite TV show?
My all-time favorite TV and comfort show is the anime One Piece(I swear I’m not a weeb), I just love all the character dynamics and the complexity of the plot. So if you have the time to watch over 1000 episodes I highly recommend that you watch it.
What’s your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Christmas despite me not being religious, but who doesn’t love listening to Christmas music while opening presents? Christmas is not just a holiday but a lifestyle during Christmas season, and I enjoy the festivities that bring communities together during Christmas season.
What are some clubs, activities, teams, or groups that you’re a part of on campus?
I’m a part of the JV girls’ soccer team, and I’ve also recently joined girls’ basketball, though I can’t say I contribute much to the team in playing. I also joined Model Un to utilize my public speaking skills, but another place I would like to utilize my voice is as your student representative.
What is your favorite Peddie tradition so far?
My favorite Peddie tradition so far is definitely Blair Week, I know this answer is cliche but I truly enjoyed the spirit and energy that Blair Week brought to Peddie.
What is your favorite Peddie memory?
My favorite Peddie memory is all the times I hang out with my friends on campus, to destress after finishing my work.
What are some things you like to do in your free time?
During my free time, I like to catch up on my sleep or a show I’m watching, eat the food I’m craving, and build things like Legos. But I enjoy doing all of these things with my family and friends.
