All Peddie students know our campus inside out. Unlike Blair, we are not surrounded by a patch of forest. With just a two-minute walk from campus, we can visit Hightstown, a historic town founded in 1853 and named for John and Mary Hight. And the best part is that it lets the Peddie community continue to enjoy themselves outside of campus. To show you where to go, here is my list of the eight best attractions in Hightstown!
Number 8: Dunkin’

Dunkin’ makes it on the list as a go-to spot for students after exams, practice or anything deserving of a treat. As it also has a small convenience store inside, it is a good place to stop by for light groceries or snacks.
Number 7: Randy Now’s Man Cave

A record store owned by Mr. Randy Ellis and his wife, Mary, Randy Now’s Man Cave has all the vinyls, CDs or DVDs you could ever want. The store makes for an ideal place to purchase a gift for a friend, a decoration for your dorm room or somewhere to simply admire the music.
Number 6: Tacorito

With one out of its three locations located in Hightstown, Tacorito attracts many Peddie students with its established Mexican cuisine, reliable food and nice music. (The steak enchiladas are the best things on the menu.)
Number 5: Rise Thrift Store

Rise Thrift Store is a lesser-known spot that sells clothes, decorations, books, toys and more for great prices. It is always a great option to visit for spirit weeks, Halloween and special occasions, but also a place to stop by for fun if you enjoy thrifting.
Number 4: 12 Farms

The 12 Farms restaurant is established as a more formal restaurant if students are looking for a nice dinner or a date. With a refreshing atmosphere, 12 Farms often has live music during later hours. The menu is sure to interest anyone, and indeed nobody can deny their amazing food. (Bee pollen crusted duck!)
Number 3: Little Key Coffee

Little Key Coffee is an immensely popular spot in town for students during DMX, long lunch or after school. The shop is always a delight to walk into with its welcoming atmosphere, and neither their coffee nor their pastries ever disappoints.
Number 2: Maninno’s 4 Pizza and Restaurant

The restaurant Mannino’s is beloved by every Peddie student due to their good prices, close location and reliable food. The well-known pasta pizza is a must-try at Maninno’s. Michael Wu ’28 said, “The succulent Italian offerings never disappoint, and they come in fast and hot.”
Number 1: Pie Girl

Pie Girl is undoubtedly the best spot in town. Loved not only by Peddie students, the store usually sells out fast. Offering breakfast sandwiches, drinks, pastries, and of course, pies, Pie Girl is a great option for any time of day.
Mikey Kim ’28, an avid fan of Pie Girl, said that “The pastries and breakfast sandwiches are really good, and they change their pastry selection every week.”
All Peddie students have populated a restaurant, store or business over the years, and are extremely grateful for their proximity to such a welcoming town with so many resources.
