During the week of February 9, Peddie enjoyed a break from the long, cold stretch of the winter term with a gift from Student Council: spirit week. In past years, spirit days have been reserved for the week leading up to Blair Day, so this new winter event came as a fun surprise.
When asked how helpful they thought this spirit week was in raising student morale, Co-President Luke Chon ’26 said it was “somewhat successful.” Although the spirit week was a bit challenging to plan, Chon suggests it would be worth it to try the following year as well.
Highlights included the AP Art History class dressing up as Mr. Treese on “Dress Like a Teacher Day.”

Chon clarified that there will likely not be a spirit week during spring term as there will already be much excitement in the air with fun events like class beach trips and senior knockout.
Understanding that students may feel down due to the nature of winter weather and workload, Chon offered some words of encouragement: “It’s been a long year, but take it one day at a time. It goes by fast, so I encourage everyone to keep working hard. You’re doing great! Keep driving!”
