Why do you really want to serve in this position? 

While serving in this position, I will be someone who genuinely listens to every idea, and communicates them clearly. I will be a good listener, follow through, and make sure that every voice is heard. I want to promote a positive environment while connecting everyone together as a class. I want to take initiative and responsibility and be a good leader for our entire grade.

Why should your peers choose you to represent them on the Student Council and in the Peddie community? What qualities do you possess that will allow you to be a successful representative? What ideas do you want to bring to Student Council? 

My peers should choose me as their representative because I am responsible, easily approachable, and will commit to the position. I am true to my word, a good communicator, and genuine. I believe in always being kind and inclusive regardless of the circumstances. Personally, I always look for the good in others and always promote a positive atmosphere. People can count on me, I am always there when someone is in need. Overall, I find it rewarding when my kindness has a positive impact on others and the entire school community.

How will you ensure that your leadership is inclusive and representative of the entire student body? 

I am very friendly and considerate and put in an effort to include and get to know everyone, and I do not limit myself to one certain group of people. I will be sure to listen to all students opinions and always lead with an open mind. I want every single student at Peddie to feel heard and seen. My ultimate goal as a class representative is to ensure that every voice is important and that every opinion matters.

What initiatives do you have in mind to improve the overall school experience for your fellow students? 

Some initiatives I have in mind include ones that make school a more pleasant and enjoyable experience overall. I want initiatives to help students be less stressed about fitting in, and promote a stronger sense of community. I would do so by organizing class activities that require teamwork and bringing us together. I also want to make school feel like a supportive place that listens to all ideas. An idea of mine is to send out student feedback surveys to hear opinions on their well being at school and how student council can help improve.

How might your academic and extracurricular obligations next year impact your role as a member of Student Council?

I consider myself responsible and good at managing and balancing my schedule. I am involved in athletics, performing arts, and music at Peddie. My diverse interests allow me to connect with many different students at Peddie, not just my class, but the whole student body. Due to my many interests, connecting with many different students across different grade levels will make me a strong and relatable candidate for student council.
